Dear Parents

The role of Governing Body is to ensure that the school is conducted in a manner that promotes high standards in education.

Birdwell is fortunate to have a dedicated Governing Body, who give their time voluntarily to ensure that the right provisions are made for the school.  We endorse an open-door approach at Birdwell, which enables us to be responsive to parents' views and opinions.

School Profile  
Following the Education Act 2005 it is a requirement of all Governing bodies to prepare and publish a school profile annually - this replaces the previous requirements to publish an annual report.

We have been required to prepare and publish a profile for the year 2004-2005 despite the fact that this was last year.   This has been done, and should you wish to access it on-line it is available at http://www.parentscentre.gov.uk/school profile. Should you wish to see a hard copy of this profile, a read-only copy will be available at the school office.
